Many people ask themselves if they should be growing vegetables organically. Many farmers and vegetable gardeners are starting to go the organic vegetable gardening route instead of using harmful chemicals and fertilizers.  Not only is organic vegetable gardening healthier for you, organic gardening is much better for the environment.  This creates a win-win situation for you to grow your own vegetables.  In place of using herbicides, you can prevent weeds by using bark mulch or leaf mold.  Be diligent in getting weeds that do pop up before they set seed to keep them under control.  To deal with garden pests, use biological control methods instead of chemical spray products.  Parasitic wasps are an example that controls whiteflies in greenhouse gardening.  There are also tiny worms that kill vine weevil grubs.  Create a habitat in your vegetable gardening that attracts natural predators to aid in garden pests termination.  Toads eat slugs and snails.  Lacewings and ladybugs eat aphids.
